    Dryer Vent Cleaning

Why Dryer Vent Cleaning is Important

The Dryer Vent is the pipe that runs from your clothes dryer to the outside of your home. Excessive moisture needs to escape somewhere. Even though this system is only used for one purpose, it also gets dirty and needs to be cleaned.

Among the reasons why dryer vent cleaning is important there are some you may not even think about. Let’s discuss this in more detail.

Main reasons why you should do dryer vent cleaning

Without further ado, the main reasons include:

    1. Efficiency. A polluted system can lose a lot of efficiency, while consuming the same amount of resources to work.
    2. Your life and your health. Clogged ventilation can cause toxic gasses to form or even a fire to happen. The consequences can be really unpredictable, so regular cleaning is a must.
    3. Service life. A constantly clogged dryer vent obviously does not help your dryer and can greatly reduce its lifespan.
    4. Money. In almost all cases, it is much cheaper to get rid of the problem before it occurs. If the system or dryer breaks, it will cost a lot more than cleaning it. Not to mention the threat to your safety and health.

Keeping the system clean is extremely important. Don’t forget about it. You don’t even have to do it yourself. There are plenty of companies that will do it for you. And yes, paying professionals for their work is much more profitable than fixing breakdowns or facing the consequences.

Why do AC vents get mold?

Air conditioning vents are a perfect environment for all kinds of mold. This happens because vents are usually dark, isolated and have lots of dust and moisture for mold to grow on. Mold is usually thick and black in AC vents.

It may sound obvious, but it is worth saying that the presence of such mold in the air conditioning system in large quantities does not positively affect your health. And getting rid of it regularly is a must if you do not want to face health problems.

    A few last tips

If you’re constantly asking yourself “Why are my air vents so dusty?” then you should do cleaning more often. It is also recommended to seek professional help to diagnose the system. Perhaps the worst has already happened and there is a breakdown you don’t know about.

Lastly, about your dryer – if it’s too hot when you touch it, or if you smell something burning while it is running, turn it off immediately. Either your system is too dirty and cleaning will save the situation, or you have not cleaned it for too long and the breakdown has already happened. In both cases, it is not worth using the dryer until it’s fixed.
